What is an offering? What does the Lord require of us? This message, Kingdom Principles Review by Tim Alsbaugh, will be one you will want to keep in your archives to listen to over and over again. You will learn from these on principles how to be a sower, a reaper, a giver and a blessing in your Kingdom walk with God and man!
Tim explains that from the very beginning –the earliest pages of the Bible– from Cain and Abel to Abraham and the prophets, we see the story unfold about ‘offering’ and what it really means. Our offerings are not meant to buy an audience with God, but to bring us into His presence for relationship and loving fellowship with Him. It’s all about honor and relationship.
Tim goes on to explain in detail the four types of giving, or offerings, and the Kingdom principles associated with them.
Each offering has a particular way of touching God’s heart. When the person’s heart is turned toward the Lord with offering, then God’s heart turns toward that individual for fellowship.
- TITHE ─ This is a connection of our relationship with God; a picture of the covenant that we have with Him. This 10% tithe belongs to the Lord because of covenant (Mal. 3:10). His tithe is put in place so that as we are faithful to sow, He will open the windows of heaven to pour out blessings on us! Are you ready for the blessings of God to overtake you?
- FIRST FRUITS ─ Terumah, is generally 2% and is not required like the tithe, but our motive to give Terumah is through generosity. Listen as Tim explains the three types of First Fruits offerings and teaches that as we sow in First Fruits offerings, it unleashes our inheritance in Christ (Prov. 3:9-10).
- SEED ─ The hope for possibilities and a potential of the harvest. The seed will yield according to your giving. God loves a cheerful giver and if you sow bountifully, you will have a bigger harvest. The more you sow, the more will grow. Are you ready to reap a harvest of 30, 60 or 100 fold? Your seed won’t produce if you keep it in the barn… is your seed still in the barn?
- ALMS ─ Our alms are righteous acts, charitable deeds to our fellow man (Matt 6:1-4). Giving alms gets God’s attention (Acts 10:1-4). It comes up as a memorial before God and allows an opening for a blessing to come back to us. This offering reflects the loving relationship we have with our Father God through the loving kindnesses we show to our fellow man. It always brings a blessing!
The more you learn of God’s provision and His longing to bring His Goodness and blessings into your life, the more you will understand these Kingdom Principles of giving back to Him out of all that He has given to you! Are you ready for a closer walk with the King? Learn these Kingdom principles!
