In Preparation for Passover 5777 Curt Landry tells the riveting story of reconnecting with his biological father for the first time after a 37 year separation. He dedicates this message to his father.
Just like the Israelites wandered for 40 years in the wilderness, the Church too has traversed through a 40 year season of wandering. Curt follows the life and ministry of Joshua, as he prepared to cross over the Jordan into their promise.
Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’” — Joshua 1:10-11
“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. — Joshua 1:2-3
Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. — Joshua 1:6-8
Whoever rebels against your command and does not heed your words, in all that you command him, shall be put to death. Only be strong and of good courage.” — Joshua 1:18
So it was, after three days, that the officers went through the camp; and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” — Joshua 3:2-4
“Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe” -Joshua 4:4
“And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up in Gilgal”.—Joshua 4:20
At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.” — Joshua 5:2
So it was, when they had finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed. Then the Lord said to Joshua, “This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day. 10 Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho. And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day. Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year. — Joshua 5:8-12
Join the House of David as they understand that Moses is dead, but now it is time to Passover into the promise.
- When God opens a can of worms he can take care of all the worms.
- The steps of a good and righteous man or woman are ordered by the Lord.
- The manna is over.
