In Curt Landry’s message, The Season of Light he begins the evening with a story of George Washington and how he experienced the light of Hanukkah during the Battle of Valley Forge.
He follows this by giving a brief explanation of the science behind light. He follows this with explaining how important it is to walk in the light of Yeshua.
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.’ –John 8:12
Next he asks the question, “Does the Word of God have a place in your life to illuminate truth. Is the Word of God sharper than a two edged sword? And the Lord Is asking you to celebrate the light that He has placed within each one of us.” Curt then asks the congregation will they let that light turn on?
The evening is closed by a powerful visual aid, where each member of the congregation takes a single candle. As the lights begin to dim, Curt asks each one to light a candle when the birthday of their salvation took place. As the candles begin to shine, the darkness begins to dissipate, bringing warmth to all those nearby and far.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” –Ephesians 5:8
