With a heavy heart, Curt Landry brings the message Tisha B’Av 5776-2016. He shares that Tisha B’Av is an annual day of fasting in Judaism which commemorates the anniversary of a number of disasters in Jewish history —primarily the destruction of both the first and second temples in Jerusalem.
He goes on to list a number of events since that time including: expulsion from England in 1290 CE, expulsion from Spain in 1492, the beginning of WWI which ultimately lead to WWII and the deaths of over 6 million Jews. Curt continues by sharing documented historical evidence that date clear into modern times, and incorporate even the most recent infamous Iran Deal.
Next Curt goes on to challenge the Body of Christ, explaining that for three weeks prior to the day of fasting, the Jewish people mourn the destruction of their beloved temple. Curt expresses deep sorrow as he shares that God too mourns for the state and condition of the Body of Christ. He laments the lack of leadership in the church today.
Join the House of David as they step into greater understanding of this weighty day in history. Stand in solidarity with the nation of Israel as we mourn this day of tragedy. Step into greater levels of spiritual warfare as we dismantle the plots and plans of the enemy during a special time of prayer.
– Don’t tell me that the enemy isn’t interested in the Jewish calendar.
– God has given us a responsibility for the state of God’s house, and for the state of our own personal temples.
– You are called to serve the people that God calls you to serve.
