Tim Alsbaugh brings out very meaningful and much needed wisdom from God’s Word on the subject of Waiting on the Lord.
“Wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He will strengthen your heart.” Ps 27:14
But, what does it really mean to “wait” on the Lord? There is more to it than ceasing from your actions.
Tim directs us to scriptures that show us how we can focus on the Lord, yet not be inactive. Regardless of our circumstances, we need to focus our attention on the Lord so that we can see what He’s doing in our lives.
What are you waiting for? Who are you in service to? In this message as Tim takes you through the scriptures, you will see how you can learn to be attentive, focusing on Jesus, waiting for His appearing, and longing to see Him.
Truly my soul silently waits for God. Ps 62:1
Wait on the Lord and keep His way, and He shall exalt you to inherit the Land. Ps 37:34
When you wait on the Lord….
- no matter the circumstances, your hope is secure and He is strengthening you to stand and do what’s right. He strengthens your heart and gives you good courage.
- you can re-focus your attention to the Lord, taking your eyes off your place and putting them back on the Lord. When it’s not about ‘me’ anymore, you can focus on God, your strength, and mount up above all obstacles.
- it’s all about Jesus. Just walking with Jesus – it’s all about Him – we can focus on Him and spend time with Him. Entwined with Him we can walk and have joy for the journey.
…He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. Heb 9:28
We have relationship with Him because of what HE did. Those who wait for Him and long to be entwined with Him, have an eager expectation for His reappearing. When we wait on the Lord, we can run and not be weary. It’s time for the people of God to be able to wait on the Lord, gird up their loins and run with the chariots to carry the message of the King.
